Willie Swales

Acoustic / Folk performer Willie Swales goes it alone (he is the bassist with Dirty Hearts Band also reviewed on this site) and ends up with a good selection of songs which, with a bit of work, could turn into something solid. I´d recommended trying to catch a live performance as I don´t think that these recordings reflect his work particularly well.

Track - A Silver Line

A nice track but not the best here, the vocals letting it down with a strange double tracked sound. As a song, it has potential and is reminiscent of early Teenage Fan Club.

Track - Time Moves Slow

The vocals again let this track down but redeems itself with a nice chorus which lifts the mood as the song can begin to fell a bit repetitive and draining at times. Perseverance is the key although that maybe a bit challenging.

Track - When I Call

The Mouth Organ is brought into play here which gives the track a good start. This is a bright, optimistic song and warm sounding. Lots of promise here, can see this being enjoyed at a live performance. With some work on the vocals, this could be some really rather good.
