This Glasgow band are made up of Fred, Jamie, Jon, Leona and Mic and are playing Nice n Sleazy's in Glasgow on the 4th October. That is the sum total of what I know about this band due to lack of bio on their myspace.

Something 4 Nothing - Transfer Audio

Fast paced, distorted, electro rock. This track builds up a good tempo and has a great use of different sounds to make their track enjoyable to listen to. For all those Goldfrapp fans out there this is probably your cup of tea. Not the strongest song Lyrically but the vocals are in sync with the style and makes this catchy wee tune remind you of strobe lights, sticky dance floors and sweaty bodies jumping around pilled off their nut.

Peril - Transfer Audio

Wow vocals like Blondie here gives this track a certain 80's feel to it. Again the heavily distorted backing track gives instant impression of electro however on closer inspection this track appears to have a greater depth to it. After about 2 minutes this track could have just ended with little offering after this that hasn't already been covered. Very Bloc party ending to their song sure its identical to Banquet.

Ferocious - Transfer Audio

Change of pace to this track with a more downbeat beginning before the guitar adds some ferocity. Once you get past the irritating repeated chorus this is far too similar to the other tracks and does little for me. Not the biggest fan of over use of a synth but it works well with this track and with a little work on the lyrical content this could be improved a whole lot.

Verdict

Nice change of pace from other amateur bands out there but don't show enough to make me want to rush to the west coast and see them perform. Would like to hear more of their music and if they did some work on their lyrical content they could be a decent offering. With a listing of Joy Division as an influence I would have hoped for something with slightly more depth and feeling to it.
