Track - While you Mourn
This track starts hauntingly with a soft melody that wouldn´t look out of place on a Buffy the Vampire Slayer soundtrack (not the film the TV series). Lovely vocals add depth to this emotional song, whilst slightly repetitive and slightly grainy has decent potential to be a moody song for fans of Teardrop by Massive Attack.
Track - Bad Mouth
This song starts with Piano accompanied by flute, recording here is very noticeably raw and the volume adjustments for the different instruments need some work. After about 1.5 minutes this song suddenly changes with a nice beat layered over heavier piano with the growing feeling this song is going to climax soon, sadly some electronic noises appear with the flute again and the mood is lost, until the vocals kick in and finally I think here we go this is a song. The vocals are at some points difficult to identify through the bouts of flute. This is a strange eclectic mix of all her talents which sadly come across as slightly overcomplicated and not really the best track she has to offer.Track - Nylon
Nice opening showing a much better level of recording than the previous tracks. Nice piano and slow beat with some lazy sunday vocals. This song makes you feel warm like sunlight reflecting through the window of your car as you stare at the world passing you by. This song provokes emotions and is definitely one for the Mp3 player, whilst some of the lyrics are slightly risque this provides you some insight into the mind of the writer.....Indeed.
Verdict
This girl has talent, it´s pretty obvious. Not big fan of Pop Music degrees but its obviously serving a purpose for this girl. Could be better if forming a band with a decent Bass player who would add alot to her music. A bit of lyrical work and some time in a good studio would go a long way to making this girls musical journey spring to life!
