All at Sea

Originating from Sheffield Will is a Singer, Songwriter and producer of all his own work. Acoustic shows contain session musicians with Violins which certainly Sounds an interesting proposition.

Young at Heart - All at Sea

I had to listen to this track a number of times, half because its a really great song and half because I’m finding it difficult to describe, which to me is a huge bonus. Uses sample at the start with a heavy bass beat providing the pace to this upbeat song. Vocals kick in with great presence and a comedic feel to them. Given Jamie T is listed as an influence shows in his work but has a slightly less intense feel to his music. Imagine the hand clapping being enough to start a hurricane during the chorus of this song at any of his live performances.

Rainman - All at Sea

Change of pace with haunting vocals sounds very Beatles with a heavier bass line. Once again providing Lyrical arsenal of a hip hop or rap artist which thankfully sounds right at home here. All this needs is a bass guitar and female vocalist to shout "ooooooooooeeeeoooo" during the chorus and this could be an indie anthem. Ending slightly lets it down, needs to cut off more without the dragged out spewing noise.

Planes Passing by - All at Sea

Slightly dodgy start (technical issue no doubt) but recovers well and when the vocals kick in sounds very LA's and is captivating even though it is only some northern bloke with a guitar. Can't put my finger on exactly what it sounds like but does sound familiar, but who cares its a great track with raw vocals, perfect pace and catchy rhythm. Do you know how difficult it is to whistle without sounding like a farmer? no? well he manages it.

Verdict

After listening to all the tracks I chose to review the three most diverse to demonstrate this guy has some skills. Obviously works hard at the music and should definitely do well out of his album judging by these tracks. Will definitely be looking out for his next gig in this neck of the woods as would love to see how it translates onto stage. Best offering I have heard all year and he should be excited, very excited!
