I Like Where I Live

Self styled pretty pop music maker Andy is the man responsible for the tracks found here. Interesting choice of name for a band from Glasgow but is certainly better than Glasvegas.

CoOrdinates - ILWIL

This track as described starts very pretty, stylishly done with good quality of sound and interesting use of different sounds, obviously heavily produced and not sure how this would translate into live performances but would be interested to find out. Undoubtedly sounds like Flaming Lips with the vocals but this is in fact better than their music, with a strong backbeat giving it some definite head bopping appeal.

Bad Weather Good Day - ILWIL

This track sounds a lot less professional than the first and the vocals start shakily with some of the effects overpowering the actual music itself. Picks up as the track progresses with more of an Ibiza chills album feel to it than pop. Lyrically baron for a good 2 minutes not a conversation started by any means, but possibly some nice background music with the flow of the sound like a gentle summers tide rolling in.

Verdict

On first look this did seem to be well produced music put together with some thought and obvious effort. The second track let down the first impressions slightly and I would certainly remove the reference to pretty pop music because this music should be aimed at your Dance scene come down audience, slap it on at 5am after a heavy session and put the world to right as this lovely music flows into your ears in the background. Interested to see what the rest of the forthcoming EP has to offer.
